About the Annual Tournament

The Survivors' Memorial Fund Golf Tournament is the primary financial source for the memorial fund. Without the success of this annual event the Survivors' Memorial Fund would not be able to continue providing the level of financial support to the families of our fallen officers. Without corporate sponsorships and donations, the fund would cease to exist, and these families will be forced to suffer the economic hardships during the most crucial days following the loss of their law enforcement loved one.

The Survivor's Memorial Fund Golf Committee is dedicated to presenting a memorable and exciting day of golf while raising the necessary funds to help the families of fallen officers.

Donations will still be graciously accepted if you are unable to attend.

The 19th Annual Survivors' Memorial Golf Tournament

On Monday, June 22, 2015, the California Narcotics Officers Association Survivors Memorial Fund held its 19th Annual Golf Tournament at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, California. We had a great turn out for this year’s tournament with 144 golfers participating. This year the SMF teamed with Eric Tracy, “The Mulligan Man”, who did a great job and provided many on course games and banquet activities.

This year’s tournament was dedicated to the 14 officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in 2014, while protecting and serving our communities.

Prior to the tournament, the MCAS Tustin Young Marines presented the Colors and conducted a rifle detail. During this time, bagpipers played “Amazing Grace” and “The Marine Corps Hymn”. The Young Marines also volunteered their time and assisted the SMF staff with a variety of duties throughout the tournament.

A touching video tribute to the fallen officers was shown during the banquet, and plaques were displayed in honor of the fallen officers.

Numerous businesses donated over $25,000 of various items for the live auction, silent auction and raffle. A partial list of these items included; overnight stays at premier hotels, Disneyland Park Hopper tickets, golf resort packages, golf clubs, major league baseball tickets, deep sea fishing trips, computers, printers, a 60” flat screen television and a $500 wine dinner at Fleming’s Steak House.

Auctioneer Johan Graham, owner of I-15 Auctions and a past host on the TV show “Storage Wars”, once again volunteered her time and handled the live auction at the banquet. Johan was instrumental in raising money for the SMF during her time on stage.

This year, the Bill Garvey Memorial Award was presented to SMF Trustee and Founder, Gary Schram. This award is presented to individuals who go above and beyond in their support and fundraising efforts for the SMF. Through Gary’s tireless work and commitment, he remains a driving force for the SMF. Congratulations Gary.

The SMF Committee would like to thank CAHP Credit Union for their support as a Platinum Sponsor this year. We would also like to thank Sempra Energy, Enterprise Holdings, Mitsubishi Cement Corporation and SEBA for their Gold Sponsorships. In addition we want to thank our Silver Sponsors; Gonterman & Associates, Yervant Manavian and Lewis, Marenstein, Wicke, Sherwin & Lee, LLP.

Our many thanks to all of the golfers, sponsors, donors and volunteers. Your time and generous contributions will make it possible to ease the financial burden placed on the officers’ families during the first shocking days following the death of their loved one. The SMF Committee and I are humbled and inspired by your continued support.

Together, “We Will Never Forget”.
