CNOA and HIDTA are jointly hosting this class that will cover the preparation of an undercover operator and the planning of an undercover operation from street level to major investigations. Stress will be placed on the undercover operator's role and background. The instructor will also emphasize the operational concerns and "Red Flags" circumstances before, during, and after an undercover operation. The overall objective of the course is to discuss and promote undercover officer safety in all roles related to those assigned to participate and be involved in undercover operations.

Instructor: Epifanio Sevillo

Epifanio A. Sevillo- CA DOJ, Bureau of Investigation, S.F. Regional Office Epi Sevillo is currently the Task Force Commander for the DOJ/Placer County Special Investigation Unit (Placer SIU). He is a 27 year law enforcement veteran with 20 years of narcotic, gang and violent crimes experience. Epi has commanded several DOJ task forces and supervised various DOJ special operation teams to include- Gang Suppression Enforcement Team (GSET), Special Investigations Unit (SIU), and subsequently the Major Narcotics and Violence Team out of Ca. DOJ Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement (BNE), Sacramento Regional Office. Epi has had extensive undercover experience in undercover investigations and operations and has been involved in various roles, in local, state, and federal undercover cases. Epi has taught Undercover Operations and Safety to numerous law enforcement agencies and regional training centers throughout the nation. He is also one of the lead instructors for the Undercover Operations Course program (UCOP) in Honolulu, Hawaii.
