This is an 8 hour class on what is needed when composing and sealing a search warrant,. The instructor will also cover “Hobbs” and the use of informants.

This class is geared for the patrol Officer looking to write his own warrants, and Investigators needing to update their format and understanding of current laws.

Instructor: James Hoffman

James Hoffman has been a Deputy District Attorney with the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office since 1997. He has handled a variety of assignments within the District Attorney’s Office, including misdemeanors, felonies, juvenile proceedings, Mentally Disordered Offender cases and narcotics cases. DDA Hoffman has been assigned to the Street Enforcement Team, Major Narcotic Vendor Prosecutor and is currently the County’s Electronic Intercept Coordinator. DDA Hoffman’s current assignment duties include; handling the initiation, maintenance and disposition of all wiretaps in San Bernardino County.

DDA Hoffman teaches regularly for many law enforcement agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Agency. DDA Hoffman is a regular instructor for CNOA and received the CNOA Region V Prosecutor of the year twice.
