New POST Requirements
In July of 2007 the POST Commission advised agencies that effective January 1, 2008 all persons attending POST certified classes will be required to have a POST Identification number, and that Social Security Numbers would no longer be accepted.

As a POST certified presenter, the California Narcotic Officers’ Association will now require that you provide your POST Identification Number, instead of your Social Security Number, at all POST certified training presented by the association.

If you do not have a number, contact your training manager or go to the POST website, www.post.ca.gov and click on the link to “Obtaining your POST ID Number” for instructions.

Thank you for your participation in the CNOA Training Programs.

WSIN 22nd Annual Information Sharing Conference

April 16-18 Sacramento, CA

TrainingReports.org

There is a new evaluation tool for law enforcement training, TrainingReports.org. At this website law enforcement personnel can create and search training evaluations on more than 160 different national training companies in 80 subject areas. Reports can also be searched by company and instructor.

This service is being used by the INIA/SKYNARC (International Narcotics Interdiction Association) for their annual training conference June 18-22, 2006 in Reno, NV. ILEETA (International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association), IALEFI (International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors) have also recently used this online evaluation product. CNOA is currently reviewing it’s applicability for its conferences and training.

Award Deadlines
All award nominations should be submitted to the regional chairperson by July 1, prior to the Annual Training Institute.

The deadline for the regional chairperson to submit award nominations to the CNOA office is August 1, prior to the Annual Training Institute.

This is a change from previous years, in that, we want to ensure that the regional chairs and committees are able to review all nominations.

The only exception to the above is the SBJ scholarship awards which are submitted directly to the CNOA office no later than August 1, prior to the Annual Training Institute

Legal Updates provided by the San Diego District Attorney's Officer are now posted right here on the CNOA website
