THEY LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES IN THE LINE OF DUTY
THEY DESERVE YOUR SUPPORT
YOU CAN BE A HERO
IT'S AS EASY AS $1, $2, $3

The beautiful bronze and granite "California Peace Officer' Memorial" located on State Capitol grounds in Sacramento contains the names of the more than 1,300 courageous peace officers who have laid down their lives in the line of duty protecting and serving their fellow Californians, dating back to early statehood.

Existing law allows taxpayers to make voluntary tax-free contributions on their personal state income tax returns to the "California Peace Officers' Memorial Foundation Fund". The process is simple. No checks to write and no solicitors. The taxpayer merely executes a "check off" on his or her State Franchise Income Tax return in the amount of at least $1.00 or more. Importantly, the law specifies that all contributions must be used to maintain the "California Peace Officers' Memorial", and for activities in support of the most deserving surviving families of those gallant men and women peace officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

When you file your State Income tax return for 2011 we urge every taxpayer and the more than 100,000 professional peace officers serving in California to become "heroes" by supporting this most worthwhile project.

Now you can donate your old cars or cellular phones and make a difference. Through our donation programs you can support the Narcotic Educational Foundation of America or the Survivors Memorial Fund.

Donate your used car, truck, boat or RV to the California Narcotic Officers' Association and we'll arrange to have it picked up free of charge. We accept most vehicles, even if they don't run. Some restrictions may apply on older vehicles, though. It's easy and convenient, and you'll be eligible for a tax deduction as well!

Why donate my vehicle?
It's much easier to donate your used vehicle than it is to sell it yourself. And the tax savings might even be more than what you would receive from a trade in. You’ll be spared the ordeal of selling your vehicle.

Donate Your Old Cellular Phones to CNOA
We have entered into an interesting program, it's called Phone Recycling, and it allows us to raise funds for the Narcotic Educational Foundation of America by collecting used wireless phones. The phones are recycled, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Narcotic Educational Foundation of America. With an estimated 30 million inactive cell phones out there, the potential is tremendous.

Each of these unused phones contains hazardous waste that is harmful for the environment. By donating your phone, you help the NEFA, you help the environment and receive a tax deduction for the value of the phone.

If your agency has a bunch of old phones lying around, this is a great way to properly dispose of them, and raise money for a very worthy cause.

How to make a Cellular Phone Donation
Phones will be collected at all CNOA Regional and State functions. Contact your Regional Chairperson or CNOA Office for additional information.
