“Regardless of what happened today, this is still the greatest job in the world.  You, like me just happened to be working on a very bad day brother.  It gets better trust me”.  These are the words of Bobby Senn, who was at Ground Zero on 9-11.

From the initial impact to the final collapse of the WTC.  From the horror of the event to physical and psychological damage to those who were there, Bobby Senn will give you the truth of what happened that day and the days and years that followed.  This is a riveting presentation that you do not want to miss.

This four-hour presentation is POST Certified and no other training classes will be offered on Saturday, November 20th, 2010 


Spousal Pre-Registration

Disneyland, California Adventure, Downtown Disney and some of the finest entertainment in California, what a great place for a getaway for you and your spouse.  For a fee of $95.00 an attendee can pre-register their non-law enforcement spouse or significant other, which will also entitle them to attend all social events and classes designated for Spouse Attendance.  This program is limited to spouses or significant others in non-law enforcement employment. 

By taking advantage of the Spouse Registration Option, those attending the Institute will avoid the Door Registration process, and realize savings over purchase of individual event tickets at the Institute.

 For 2010, CNOA will continue to increase the number and value of major prize drawings at the Institute.  There will be Major Prize Drawings during the General Business Meeting, Welcoming Reception and the non-hosted Trade Show Luncheon.

DRUG RECOGNITION EXPERTS
RE-CERTIFICATION COURSE AT THE CNOA TRAINING INSTITUTE
 

There is no cost for the recertification class and CNOA institute registration is not required but we encourage you to stay and attend the greatest law enforcement training institute anywhere.

The California Highway Patrol, in cooperation with the California Narcotic Officers’ Association, will be presenting an 8 hour DRE re-certification course.  To inquire about your certification status, contact the CHP DRE Unit at (916) 376-3056 or e-mail dre@chp.ca.gov . This class is certified by the International Association of Chiefs of Police.  Class size is limited and pre-registration is required.

CLANDESTINE LABORATORY SAFETY
SUPERVISOR COURSE CERTIFICATION

The California Department of Justice, Advanced Training Center, in cooperation with the California Narcotic Officers’ Association (CNOA) will be presenting an eight-hour Clandestine Laboratory Safety Supervisor Course

Course Description: This eight-hour class is a requirement for personnel who have been health and safety certified to work at clandestine drug labs and could assume the role of the on-scene supervisor at a clan lab scene, or is a supervisor of a clandestine lab crew per Title 8, Section 5192 of the California Code of Regulations. The class covers the responsibilities and liabilities of a supervisor when dealing with the health and safety hazards at clandestine drug labs.

Course Objective: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to assume the role of the

on-scene supervisor of a clandestine drug lab. As on-scene supervisor, the student will be able to direct the work of others at a clan lab scene and ensure proper health and safety control measures are taken.

Class size is limited to 50 students and pre-registration is required.

ELECTRONIC SURVEILLANCE (WIRETAP)
STATE CERTIFICATION COURSE (POST CERTIFIED)

The California Department of Justice, Advanced Training Center, in cooperation with the California Narcotic Officers’ Association, will present this course the day before the Annual Training Institute. Course Description - This 8-hour course is for peace officers and qualified individuals assigned to intercept and record wire communications ("wiretaps"). This class covers the legal basis for California wiretap operations as well as the practical and tactical aspects of operating and monitoring a wiretap. Penal Code Section 629.94 requires successful completion of this course before seeking authorization for, or participating in, wiretap operations.

Who Should Attend - Qualified individuals assigned to investigate narcotics, murder, solicitation to commit murder, gangs, bombing of public or private property, aggravated kidnapping, or conspiracy to commit any of those crimes, and who will be involved in a court-authorized state wiretap.

Course Objectives - Upon completion of this course and a written examination, students are certified by the Office of the Attorney General of the State of California to participate in wire intercept operations.

Class size is limited to 65 Students and Pre-Registration is required. For additional information regarding this course and registration form.
