The California Narcotic Officers’ Association and its members believe outstanding efforts in narcotic law enforcement and the fight against drug abuse should not go unrecognized. As a result, CNOA has established an Awards Committee focused on recognizing those individuals deserving of the following special awards.

CNOA Awards

Alfred E. Stewart Award
This honor is granted annually to a member of law enforcement who has distinguished himself/herself through dedicated service and personal achievement in drug enforcement duties. The nominee must be a law enforcement officer and a member of good standing with CNOA.

Prosecutor of the Year Award
The Prosecutor of the Year Award was established to identify, recognize, and honor prosecutors throughout California who are committed to the strong enforcement of narcotic laws. This person should be selected on basis of a long-standing record of contributions, or for his or her extraordinary efforts as a prosecutor. This award will publicly identify and honor the prosecutor and his agency.

Corporation of the Year Award
This award should go to a Corporation that has demonstrated outstanding support of law enforcement efforts, especially in the area of narcotic enforcement.

Lucky Narc Award
This is a special award given to an officer who experienced an event while enforcing narcotic laws that exhibited not only good investigative techniques but where luck was a major factor in the case . The award is not meant to recognize unsafe or poor tactics, nor should it bring embarrassment to the individual or his/her agency. The nominee must be a member of CNOA.

Citizen of the Year Award
This award should go to a citizen who has demonstrated actions that are above and beyond in assisting and/or aiding law enforcement officers, especially in the area of narcotic enforcement.

"John F. (Jack) Kerrigan" President's Award
Presented to a Citizen, Corporation or Peace Officer in recognition of outstanding contribution to narcotic enforcement or, to an individual or community based prevention effort such as a church, parent group, youth club, civic organization, families, schools, businesses, media, government program etc., to prevent drug abuse.

CNOA & NEFA Awards

NEFA unveils new scholarship program
In discontinuing its annual essay and poster contests, NEFA proudly introduces its First Annual “Say No To Drugs” Video Contest.

Eligible students are broken into two groups:
5th & 6th Graders, and 7th & 8th Graders.

Winners of each group will receive $1,000 toward the student’s scholarship fund.
